Not a bad setup, not bad value, but not the sturdiest set I've put together. I would not recommend this for adults to sleep in, for sure. Perfect for children, the grand kids absolutely love it! Some things to note though:The directions are poorly written and illustrated. Beware, you will almost definitely have to go backwards at some point, even if you think you've followed everything perfectly. Read the directions carefully from start to finish before you begin, this may help with planning the setup. Even so, there are some inaccuracies in the directions and the alignment of parts. For example, it is not always clear which way the parts should be oriented by the directions and illustrations, they just aren't accurate. It helps to know how the parts meet up in later steps so you can be sure they are oriented correctly. At the end, I got it all together and then started to assemble the drawers. This is where I had the most difficulty. As you can see in the pic I included here, the drawer parts do NOT align if you follow the directions. The predrilled screw holes cause the slot for the drawer bottoms to mis-align. I had to assemble the drawers a different way than outlined in the directions and use my experience with woodworking to understand how to make the assembly work. Even so, these are very flimsy drawers and won't hold anything too heavy. Also, I would caution everyone that kids will want to climb up the outside of this set, where the drawers are, and this could be dangerous. Please be careful and make sure your kids don't use the drawers as steps for climbing!Be prepare for 2 or 3 days of labor, some help from a relative and power tools to drive screws get some wood gorilla glue and some anti slip adhesive strip for the steps, the final result is a nice space saver furniture and on my case i turn the floor bed into a drawer to storage all the toys. the kids will love it for sureI don’t recommend this bunkbed to anyone. It does indeed come with assembly instructions. From my view, the instructions are nearly useless. The individual bed parts are identified with markings on each of the parts … sort of. Most of the parts are so faintly marked, you have to identify the rest of the parts first, in order to confirm the identity of the part in your hand – through a process of elimination. Some of the parts are not marked at all. Still others are mismarked to reflect an opposite member of a given assembly – at least, according to the instructions. Basically, you’re shipped three boxes of lumber; a sack-full of assembly nuts, bolts, and screws (which are also mixed together with dissimilar sizes); and a single sheet of poorly written assembly instructions. You’d better have a big room to scatter this assembly around in prior to construction … you’re going to need it.The drawer hardware is complete joke. I would argue that the drawer hardware is completely unusable. As a young man, I worked as a tradesman. I’ve seen and used, inexpensive but serviceable hardware. The junk the manufacturer sends with this bed doesn’t qualify. In the end, I threw the drawer hardware into the garbage can, and bought actual drawer hardware. It only took me a day in my garage to modify the casework to accept the hardware. There is nothing modular about the design of this bed. Once together, it will always remain together. If you have to disassemble the bed for any reason (re-carpeting the room, re-painting the room, moving to a new location), you will be forced to tear this bed apart almost to the last component part. Instead of using ordinary modular bedframe rail connectors to connect the structural frame members – the design incorporates a combination of blind-nut and bolt connections, in concert with wood dowels connectors; all on the same connection. Rube Goldberg would have been truly impressed with the design of this structure.First I will say what I’m liking. My 2 boys like it and have fun climbing up and down it, they also like the drawers. Now the dislikes. This is the hardest piece of furniture I have ever constructed. I have built many pieces of IKEA furniture and Target brand furniture, and while they occasionally had a defective piece or missing screw or a mismatched hole, they were generally fixable with a little bit of drilling or a quick trip to the hardware store. THIS WAS DIFFERENT. This had the worst instructions I’ve ever seen in a build it yourself piece of furniture. Some of the diagrams were just plain wrong, calling for an incorrect number of pieces, on top of being very unclear. A number of pieces were defective, and my dad and I had to drill a lot of new holes to make things fit together. The drawer bottoms had to be sanded down otherwise they wouldn’t fit in their slots. This took 3 day’s of work to assemble right. It was a horrific to put together. If I could give it zero stars on the “easy to assemble” category I wouldThe assembly process was terrible, exacerbated by bad instructions, unlabeled pieces, and confusing hardware that was not labeled very well. There was a lot of putting things together and then disassembling and reassembling because the instructions weren't clear on the orientation of the pieces. A lot of trial and error. Once we figured it out, it was a sturdy bed, perfect for my girls. So while the assembly process was a pain, the end product was worth it.The directions were abysmal and I was shorted like 10+ screws for the trundle bed and also they shorted me a ton of short wood screws that would've put the drawers together better than the long ones they shorted me on and left me with. Otherwise the bed looks great and is pretty solid. This is a beautiful bed for the money. I took off one star because of the amount of time it took to put this together. The instructions were terrible. The beginning parts are crucial and had to be redone after half the bed was together.
