This bed cover is very durable, looks great and works great. It did take me more than 5 minutes to install it but once installed it's fantasticEasyish install but front hold down clamp position cause the the front corners to raise up letting weather inside. Clamps should be nearer corners and additional clamps near first seam. This is on full size bed. Maybe shorter one seal better.Ok, here we go! I've had this Extang Sold Fold 2.0 for 2 months now and it's been better than I expected. It was recommended by another 2017 Chevy Silverado owner who spent hours and hours researching the best cover....I didn't take his word so I did my own research..spending hours comparing different brands, their customer service, company history, reviews, forums...I should have taken my friend's word and saved myself the time. I know it's a little crazy to purchase an almost $800 item over the internet that you've never seen or touched before, but I took the chance and it worked out. I was considering cheaper options..but realized that with Extang you get what you pay for. There were 3 things that this cover had that sold me. 1) MADE IN THE USA 2) IT IS WATERPROOF 3) IT IS UV RESISTANT. (1) I did not want something inferior that would break 6 months from now and then I'm out $400...saving $400 would have probably meant losing it down the line. (2) I drove in the rain and checked inside the cover..and there were NO leaks. I knew the real test would be when I wash the truck...shooting water and soap from all angles and up close. It held the water out! I took a flashlight and looked inside...and it was dry. (3) Lastly, I know what happens to plastic in this hot Florida sun...it changes color, gets brittle, breaks. This Extang cover is UV RESISTANT, not just protected. A different brand and cheaper truck bed cover that I was researching claimed it was "UV Protected"..and after some digging and contacting them directly, it turns out that they sprayed some armor-all on it and called it "UV Protected". People selling inferior products can be sneaky. So yeah, you get what you pay for. It was an easy install and I don't see myself ever removing it fully to use the whole truck bed. You do lose a section of the bed when it's fully folded and snapped at the front...but I'm ok with that. Here's a tip that I thought of...KEEP YOUR TRUCK LID LOCKED! After a few days of having the Extang Cover...I realized that anyone who sees the cover on my truck could just open my unlocked truck lid, sneak inside and unhook the latches and take off with my $800 item! So yeah, keep your truck lid locked. I carry a lot of cardboard boxes of inventory to and from home and UPS, lots of valuable stuff, so I'm confident to know that it can't be seen and most importantly, it won't get wet. Very happy with my purchase. I'll update if I come across any issues in the future. I've attached lots of photos to show the Extang Solid Fold 2.0 on my 2017 Chevrolet Silverado Custom 1500 Rally1 Edtition with the 6.5' Bed. Happy Amazoning!-----------------------Something I forgot to mention...about the "Saves Gas, May Improve Mileage Up To 10%"....it hasn't done a thing for my MPG. I've been watching the "Average MPG" on my dash for 2 months straight and it actually went from 16.5 MPG to 16.4 MPG in these past 2 months. I'm sure it's mostly because of my driving style and because of the very little highway driving I do. I'm sure it might make a difference for people who drive a lot on the highway because of less drag from the open truck bed. Stinks, I was really hoping to watch my MPGs get into the 17s and 18s.----------------------- FEBRUARY 2020 UPDATE----------------------It's been about 2 years and I've noticed that this cover hasn't been waterproof for about 6 months. I just had a light rain outside and noticed the inside collecting water. I'm starting to think that the seals, rubber, etc...is starting to deteriorate. It's still a great cover, but I now have to take an additional step of covering anything important in the truck bed with a tarp, before closing the bed cover....which is really inconvenient. I'll have to reach out to Extang to see what they recommend. I've taken my 5-star rating down to 4-stars.I want to preface this review by saying this is the 4th Extang truck cover I've owned over the last 20 years or so. Their products are absolutely worth every penny you pay for them. They’re made in America, and last forever. Totally worth the price of admission. That said, I’m a little underwhelmed about my most recent Extang purchase, so let me break out my thoughts by category:Customer SupportOverall, Extang is doing this very well. At first there was confusion about which cover to get for my truck. I wanted another FullTilt, but couldn’t quite pin down which model to get because the sizing tool on the Extang website didn’t agree with the one on Amazon, so I emailed customer support. I think it took a couple of days for them to get back to me, and I wasn’t really satisfied with the response, but when I called I connected with a rep right away, which was nice. I even got connected to the person who had written back to my email, so we got into a good dialogue immediately.Quality of manufacturingThis is another thing Extang is knocking out of the park. The materials they use are high quality and durable. All the rubber gaskets on the sides of the cover snug up nicely to the rails. Nothing is loose, and the hinges super solid. The whole device is just well machined and assembled.Ease of installationThis is probably my biggest issue with the SolidFold 2. I really don’t like the way the cover fastens to the bed rails. The J-hooks that lock the cap to the bed at the cab-end don’t really fit well, and needed some modification. I’m also not super thrilled with the spring loaded clip handles that you use to lock down the tailgate end of the cover. They aren’t quite in the right place to hook the bed, and are made of low quality plastic. I feel like a piece of moving cargo could easily break the handles and then you’re out of commission. Extang should have stuck to the metal L shaped swiveling locks they use on the tilting covers. The last thing I’ll bring up here is the actual placement of the cap on the bed rails. I thought I was going to really like a zero-frame cap, but I really don’t. With the EZ-Tilt/FullTilt tonneaus, once you get the frame on, it’s super simple to remove and install the cap if you need to move a mattress or something. Maybe I’m just OCD, but the SolidFold needs to get put on, rolled out, lined up, eyeballed from a dozen different angles, then rolled back up carefully so you don’t knock it out of adjustment, then you can start to tighten it down. But don’t tighten it too much right away because you rubber seals might get bunched up, and then you have to loosen the thing so you can get that adjusted again. Again, this might just be me being fussy, but I really didn’t find it all that easy to set this thing up.AestheticThis is a beautiful bed cover. I don’t know what it is, but I really like the look of this thing. Yeah, I was a little cranky putting it on in the hot sun, but once I did I thought: “dang, that’s a sharp looking tonneau cover”.Amazing Tonneau cover, very easy to install, reliable and easy to take it off if needed, i had Extang before on my 2014 Tacoma, and now on my GMC SIERRA 1500. I rated it 4 stars just because its little pricey but definitely worth each penny, Delivery was fast and nicely boxed.
