This really serves a dual purpose since it also protects your carpet from the leg of your bed and I have noticed I caught one or two bugs trying to climb up the leg. Hoping that my problem is solved now with a new bed that I had purchased and was waiting for delivery. Got rid of the old box springs which was the problem and feeling much better. These are advertised as interceptors and that's what they are, so don't expect anything else. I have found that the trick to dealing with bed bugs is to break the cycle of growth / reproduction. They cannot molt or lay eggs without feeding first, so I try to prevent them from feeding. These interceptors will prevent bed bugs from crawling up to your bed from the floor and that's a beginning to breaking the cycle. They're big enough to support most bed feet without being annoying; they're strong enough to support a great deal of weight. In other words, as advertised. One star was deducted because I only received 7 pieces (but I only needed 6). I complement these things with the following (note that I have hardwood floors and five cats):1) I spray the outside edges of the floor and the baseboards with EcoRaider2) After the above dries, sprinkle the edges of the floor, inside these interceptors and under furniture with diatomaceous earth3) Wash all bed linens in hot water4) Spray the mattress and box spring with EcoRaider (i.e. the little darlings are probably nesting inside them)5) Wrap the mattress and box spring in bedbug-proof encasements, which are sprayed with EcoRaider6) Spray all bed linens with EcoRaider. I do so until everything is quite damp (damp but not soaked)7) Repeat spraying all bed linens every two days for at least two weeks8) Ensure that nothing from the bed (e.g. a quilt or blanket or the underside of a box spring encasement) touches the floor9) Throw the pillows in the dryer on high for one hour daily for at least two weeks. If your pillows are down, that will likely ruin them.10) Vacuum daily and dispose of the vacuum contents.** The aforementioned works for me but may not for you. I use EcoRaider because a. It works (i.e. I don't get bedbug bites); b. it's non-toxic; c. the cats hate the smell and stay out of the room. On the negative side: a. I don't like its strong smell of cedar and eucalyptus; b. it's expensive and you're going to need a lot of it.We picked up bed bugs while traveling. They usually cling to luggage, and when you bring them home, they travel from luggage onto your bed and drink your delicious blood as you sleep!Bed bugs must be the inspiration for the Dracula story, but they are much less sexy and extremely irritating! It is very expensive and not always successful to call an exterminator for your bed bugs. We did a lot of research before we used this eradication method, and—saints be praised!—it was successful! We were bed bug free about 2.5 weeks after initial symptoms. Does that seem like a long time? Well, that ain't nothin' in the world of bed bug eradication! Some people pay $$$ over and over to get rid of these pests! Here was our strategy:1) We washed everything from our suitcases and all bedding in warm water and dried them in the sun on the close line until they were extra-crispy!2) We ran a steamer—one of those plastic portable irons—slowly over every surface of the mattress and box spring, repeating the treatment on the seams and piping, where bedbugs congregate. Also on the toe molding around the room (also a favorite convention site for bed bugs), and also made space between the toe molding and furniture, luggage, or anything else that could transport the little suckers.3) We isolated the bed from the walls and the floor using the Bed Bug Interceptors, the subject of this product review. Bedbugs cannot leap or fly: they can only crawl, and they cannot crawl up the legs of your bed when the Bedbug Interceptor is in their way! We threw a little baby powder in the canals of the Bedbug Interceptors to make their journey slipperier, thus even harder for the bugs to make it to the bed legs!We highly recommend the Bedbug Interceptors as part of a complete bedbug eradication plan! Safe for humans, environmentally friendly, no more trouble than more toxic solutions, cost-effective, and no animals were harmed—except bedbugs!!My Pest person said very good idea, I didn't realize the bed bug crawl up the legs of the bed, but they do. This is how it works, They get stuck in the interceptor before they get to you on your bed. Then they die beause the get trapped in the interceptor. No host to suck on to meaning Human.Good productprevents infestation of furnitureI’ve used it a few times and I think it’s a good product but I really don’t know for sure if I get rid of the bedbugs yet and I’m not exactly sure how to use the product for the best resultsVery thin plastic. I updated my review based on great customer serviceBugs crawled right over trap.So my and my wife got bugs from our neighbors and it has been a living nightmare. The best thing to do is rid your box spring, get a flmetal frame for your bed, and grab some of these for the legs. We have tried alot of things. Bed bug sheets, bed bug electronic plug ins, etc etc. These work. And it let's you know how active they are in your house.what i have found in my experience with these blood sucking pests, is that they are great jumpers :( yes, the trappers do catch them ... but a number of them will jump out especially if there is someone like you to jump on :( bed bugs have 4 stages... the babies are so small you can hardly see them, and the females are practically invisible in the first stage. these trappers are better than nothing, and better than using the spray all the time :( i do not regret the purchase. i only regret the presence of these pests :(After first fumigation appt, ordered these. Put them on when they came in. Caught one!!! Very happy they work. The bedbug couldn't get out on his own.
