Let me start off by saying that I really do like this truck bed cover. It's great and works even better than I thought it would. Keep reading for the complaints I have, which have nothing to do with the product itself, but rather how it was boxed.I've never had a truck bed cover before, but I decided I'd try one out on my new-to-me truck. I had a toolbox in my last truck, and it really didn't suit my needs. I frequently haul fairly light but large/bulky objects that can easily blow away. Car body panels, recycling, etc. This thing was very easy to install. Just line it up square with the front edge of the bed, center in between the bed rails, and clamp it down. No tools required. I have plastic bed rail caps on my truck that I did have to trim slightly underneath to get the hooks to engage properly, but now I have an easy way to line the thing up when reinstalling it.I didn't expect this folding cover to be waterproof, but so far it seems to keep things pretty dry. I had a load of items in cardboard boxes in the back of the truck and drove through a fairly heavy rainstorm. None of the boxes were wet the next day. I'm impressed. One of my reservations about a soft cover was that it would be loose and floppy when I am driving on the interstate. While the material on top does flutter some, the aluminum frame stays tight against the bed the whole time. I've never once though it was going to blow off.Sure the product is great, but it's been more difficult than it should be to get one shipped to me that isn't damaged. In fact, I never did receive one without damage at all. The first one had a broken(cracked completely in half) plastic hinge on the first fold behind the cab, right side. I contacted Amazon who sent me a replacement fairly quickly. I unboxed the second one and found the same hinge broken on the left side of the cover. I was very disappointed until I realized that I could easily swap the hinge from the replacement onto the first one that was already on my truck. I will be sending one back with two broken hinges on it instead of just one.I could complain about the chintzy plastic hinges, or blame Amazon and UPS for mishandling my package, but the real issue here is how LUND has boxed their product. This is a good size object with some weight to it. It comes folded to 1/3 its size in a large flat box. Open the box and you will find a few pieces of crumpled up paper that is supposed to "protect" the cover from damage in transit. No styrofoam end caps, just a few pieces of crumpled up paper about the same material as a brown paper bag. When folded, the plastic hinges are in the outer edge of the cover, and could very easily be cracked if the box is accidentally dropped from even a small distance. I will add that neither of the covers I received had any obvious damage to the outside of the box, but both were broken inside.I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this cover to others, but I do hope that in the future they learn to box their items with a little more care. It was an unnecessary hassle for me to have to order a replacement in the first place, then to have to repair it myself by swapping parts when the second one arrived more beat up than the first.
